Games played through the internet browser, without the need of downloading a software, are also really popular; mainly because no installation is required and they can be played anywhere. Social networks brought games that are more community driven. Zynga’s FarmVille is a good example of this type of game.

Entertainment has always been a good source of revenue. Online gaming and its success obviously revealed to be a profitable market. This lead to the creation of virtual currency. It is used to get exclusive features, mostly in the free-to-play business model of MMO games.
